The Surgeons of Hope Foundation seeks to establish a US network of volunteer surgeons who will participate in surgical missions. This network of surgeons will play an invaluable role in our efforts to train local surgeons and to operate on impoverished children who need immediate care. The surgeons will be sent on short medical missions from 8 to 15 days to perform operations and to train local surgeons. SoH will also offer research-based fellowships from 6 to 12 months at the local hospitals.

The network of volunteer surgeons may also be used in a rotation scheme with SoH’s sister organizations and their hospital projects. These collaborative efforts will allow SoH to increase both the training of local surgeons and the number of operations on impoverished children in developing countries.

The volunteer surgeons for medical missions will be selected on the basis of qualification, experience and area of medical specialization. The surgeons may also be chosen through cooperation agreements with hospitals or medical clinics.

Please contact us on how to contribute human resources.

Help us with our current and future missions and hospitals by becoming a sponsor.

Every child, no matter where he or she lives in the world, deserves access to modern medical technology, SoH has the vision and the expertise to realize such universal access, but without the help of corporate sponsors, we cannot fulfill our mission. We invite your organization to build a hospital, to equip an operating room, to provide medical equipment, to sponsor a surgical mission or to cure one child.

For more information please visit our contact page (Philippe Lerch).

Become an SoH Partner

Many corporations and foundations will agree with our goals and will wish to contribute to their realization. At the same time they will recognize that SoH itself will know from day to day and year to year when the need is greatest. These organizations will contribute to the general funding of SoH and be considered an SoH partner. Donations may be used to build training hospitals, send surgical teams to heart centers already operating, or to support fundraising efforts. Organizations willing to commit to regular donations may use our logo and website to identifytheir continued parnership with us. For more information, please contact Reverend Douglas Grandegeorge at +1 212 838 1501.

Finance your own medical mission

Certain medically based corporations or fraternal organizations may find it useful and beneficial to sponsor a medical mission to a developing country under the auspices of SoH. Using our vast network of surgical associations as well as our state-of-the-art hospitals, a surgical mission can be organized using the name of the sponsoring organization. Such a medical mission can be in place for a one time donation of between $50,000 and $100,000, depending on the receiving country and the scope of the mission. Such a mission can recur on an annual basis or another time increment.

Donate in kind

The Surgeons of Hope Foundation (SoH) seeks to create partnership agreements with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, health clinics and laboratories. These agreements will allow SoH to obtain and sustain new medical equipment for its hospital projects and missions. The donated equipment and material are indispensable elements to the maintenance and creation of the hospital projects.

Another type of in-kind donation is to supply medical personnel, long or short term, to one of our training hospitals.

Build the next SoH Hospital

There are 5 hospitals where we are welcome to send medical missions. you can find descriptions of these hospitals here. None of these hospitals is the Western hemisphere.

As we are a United States 501(c)3 organization, the next thing we long for and plan to look after is to build or adapt a hospital in the Western hemisphere. We have considered a wide variety of countries; Ecuador, Haiti, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Uruguay, among others. What we need now is to find a corporate sponsor interested in making a major donation to launch such a project. This sponsor will earn the right, if it so choses, to help determine in which country we put the hospital and what the hospital is named. It can certainly be named for the sponsoring organization.

For more information, please contact Reverend Douglas Grandegeorge at +1 212 838 1501

Surgeons of Hope Foundation builds modern hospitals in the under-developed world, equips them with advanced diagnostic tools, and sends medical missions of the finest heart surgeons in America to do two things: 1) To perform pediatric cardiovascular surgery, and 2) To train local surgeons to perform these sophisticated procedures.

We at SoH believe that every child deserves to have access to the miracle of modern medicine and technology. With your help, we can make a difference.

Some of the most successful charities in the world are those which take modern medicine to underprivileged children in the developing world.

Antibiotics, and other vital medications and even minor surgery are easily transportable. What every doctor discovers, however, when delivering, health care to poor children is the high instance of heart disease among them. Often this is the result of untreated childhood diseases which, though easily treatable in wealthier nations, have weakened the heart and in hundreds of thousands of cases around the world have resulted in blue babies and children barely able to move. The demand this places on families and communities is of unspeakable severity.

Many heart surgeons are willing to donate substantial amounts of time to curing such children, but heart surgery is not transportable. State-of-the-art hospitals must be built and equipment of the highest sophistication must be available for these delicate, life-saving operations.

Surgeons of Hope Foundation builds modern hospitals in the under-developed world, equips them with advanced diagnostic tools, and sends medical missions of the finest heart surgeons in America to do two things:

To perform pediatric cardiovascular surgery, and

To train local surgeons to perform these sophisticated procedures.

Hundreds of stories can be told of boys and girls unable to perform the simplest personal tasks, running and playing in only a few days with their friends and siblings. But the need is very great, and the medical facilities are few. Thousands of children are waiting for surgery without hope.

Your contribution of $3,000 will save one life. Your contribution of a million dollars will build a hospital where many lives — reaching into the thousands — will be saved. We at SoH believe that every child deserves to have access to the miracle of modern medicine and technology. With your help, we can make a difference.
