Bringing our Surgical Program to Costa Rica:

Our first mission of 2016 will take us to Costa Rica! We have been invited to travel to San Jose in February to enhance an existing surgical program at the Hospital Nacional De Ninos (National Children’s Hospital). Our goal for this mission is to perform 10 open-heart surgeries on infants and children with congenital heart defects and to provide coaching on complex procedures for the resident medical staff. Twelve volunteers led by Dr. Paul Chai, Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon at New York Presbyterian Hospital, will make up the team for this mission. We are mindful that our donors, large and small, have contributed to this mission and are eager to hear news of progress. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for regular updates.

You Helped Make 2015 a Successful Year!

You helped fund 6 mission trips, and supported 84 volunteers who came from 8 different countries. In total, 119 patients were operated on at our new Heart Center in Managua. All of this hard work was the equivalent of $3.4 million dollars’ worth of services, and it was provided at no cost to the patients and families who were served!
